Terms and Conditions

By enrolling in any program, class, or team at Shoalhaven Cheer Academy (SCA), you agree to the following terms and conditions. These ensure the safety, integrity, and positive experience of all athletes and families across both competitive and recreational programs.

1. Registration & Fees

  • An annual registration fee is required before participation.

  • Recreational registration: $75 per athlete, per year.

  • Competitive registration: $160 per athlete (includes club jersey).

  • Recreational class fees are billed by the term.

  • Competitive program fees are paid via monthly direct debit (Feb–Nov).

  • Late payments may incur a $25 fee.

  • Missed classes are non-refundable.

  • Competitive athletes who withdraw after Term 1 must pay 2x months’ fees and a $200 drop-out fee.

  • All unpaid fees may be referred to a debt collection agency.

2. Attendance & Absences

  • Regular attendance is expected across all programs.

  • Competitive athletes must complete an absence form for any missed session.

  • Absences close to competitions (Red Weeks) are not permitted.

  • Athletes who are sick/injured are still expected to attend for observation (unless contagious).

  • Parents must ensure athletes arrive on time to all classes and events.

3. Recreational Program

  • Rec Cheer and Rec Tumble classes follow a progressive skill system.

  • Athletes are assessed at the end of each term and receive a certificate.

  • The program emphasizes confidence, creativity, and teamwork.

  • Rec Adult Cheer and Tumble options are available, including casual class bookings.

4. Competitive Program

  • Participation is by selection for Semi-Comp, Novice, and Elite teams.

  • Competition attendance is mandatory.

  • Athletes must wear the club jersey at competitions and during awards.

  • Athletes may be removed from routines if absent or unprepared.

  • All training gear must comply with SCA uniform expectations.

5. Code of Conduct

All athletes and families agree to uphold the standards in the SCA Code of Conduct. This includes:

Athletes:

  • Maintain respectful behaviour and teamwork.

  • Follow uniform and hygiene guidelines.

  • Avoid disruptive behaviour, gossip, or inappropriate social media content.

  • Respect all team placements and coach decisions.

Parents/Guardians:

  • Show respect to coaches, staff, and other families.

  • Do not interfere in athlete conflict—allow coaches to manage.

  • Avoid negative comments online or in person.

  • Support your athlete’s commitment to training and events.

  • Ensure your child complies with club expectations and fees.

6. Health & Safety

  • A doctor’s certificate must be provided for injuries.

  • Injured athletes are expected to observe classes.

  • No energy drinks, fast food, or sugary snacks at the gym.

  • Athletes must bring water bottles and eat before class.

  • Phones are not to be used during classes and may be held by staff if misused.

7. Uniform & Appearance

  • Recreational athletes: SCA training gear or plain black clothing.

  • Competitive athletes: Required SCA uniform and scrunchie.

  • No competition merchandise, denim, or oversized clothing.

  • Hair must be in a neat, low ponytail with flyaways secured.

8. Photography & Media

  • Coaches may take photos/videos to share on official platforms.

  • Parents/guardians must not record or photograph classes unless authorised.

  • All athletes and families must present positively on social media.

9. Communication

  • All updates are shared via BAND, Facebook groups, and email.

  • It is each family’s responsibility to stay informed via these channels.

  • Class or absence updates must not be sent via text or social media.

10. Weather & Heat Policy

  • We reserve the right to cancel classes if the indoor temperature exceeds 38°C or if weather conditions (e.g. heavy rain or flooding) impact athlete safety getting to/from the gym.

  • In such events, refunds or credits may be offered on a case-by-case basis, but are not guaranteed.

11. Privacy & Data

  • Personal information is collected in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

  • Data may be shared with event providers for competition waivers and emergency contact purposes.

  • We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information.

12. Agreement

By participating in any program at Shoalhaven Cheer Academy, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
